Invitation: Talk & Workshop


 A Training of Trainers Workshop on Children*s Rights for youth workers was held on 24 February 1997.  The workshops aimed at providing a sharing and training opportunity in the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.  18 Participants were also trained on how to use the Children*s Rights manual to disseminate significant message on children*s rights.  They were expected to acquire the ability to conduct training workshops when working with children at their own organizations.  

Three more workshops were conducted in 1997 and early 1998.  They were organized in collaboration with Amnesty International Hong Kong Section and Hong Kong Family Welfare Society. A total of 55 participants were received including social workers,  teachers and principals.
 
Besides, a number of educational talks on children*s rights were delivered by our staff:

a. to 14 parents and volunteers in Against Child Abuse Tuen Mun 
   Center on 17 December 1996.

b. to 15 participants including superintendent and social workers in    
    St.Christopher*s Home on 30 January 1997.

c. to 10 women in Hong Kong Federation of Women*s Centers on 
   10 September 1997.

d. to 100 people including children, parents and teachers in a human 
    rights activity organized by a children and youths center on 10 
    January 1998.

e. to 450 secondary one and two students on 20 February 1998.
